About Satyaki.

Math and problem-solving have always been a natural predisposition for me because I was born into a family of engineers. Raised and having attended school in Kolkata, I went on to pursue my undergraduate degree at IIT Roorkee.

Why I chose a career in investment banking?

I developed a deep interest in finance when attending college and realized that software development and other technology-based roles wasn’t appealing to me in the least. I secured an internship in Venture Capital and placed well in the CFA L1 examination, which helped me develop strong conviction towards IB roles, which helped me to become part of the growing Indian startup ecosystem.

What keeps me up at night?

A bad sleep schedule since college and UCL nights.

Important inspirations.

There are several personalities that have inspired me in my journey. Cristiano Ronaldo has always been a role model of mine since I was a child due to his sheer dedication and hard work towards the sport of football. S. Jaishankar is another inspirational icon due to the dynamic personality and leadership skills he possesses. Peter Theil and Warren Buffet Due are wonderful personalities who move me due to all that they have achieved and their incredible success stories.

Key focus and interests.

I follow several areas with a high degree of passion including B2B Software as a Service (SaaS), Consumer Goods, Edtech, and Electric Vehicles.

What excites me?

Having the opportunity to work with so many founders who are talented and ambitious with the aim of disrupting the status quo and generating value for all parties. Helping guide them through their journeys is one of the best learning experiences.

If you are the smartest guy in the room, change the room.

What I enjoy doing in my free time?

When I needed a break from life while I was in Roorkee, I frequently went on spiritual excursions to the holy cities of Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Kedarnath for inner bliss or went hiking in the stunning mountains of Himachal. Additionally, I have a lifelong affection for Real Madrid and regularly watch their matches.
