Yogesh Gidwani

I was born and raised in Nagpur, where I spent the first 22 years of my life. After completing my engineering at NIT Nagpur, I did my MBA from IIFT Delhi. Even though it might sound like a typical story now (engineering + MBA + career in finance), it seemed pretty cool back when I was a student as I was the first engineer in my family, with most of my cousins’ pursuing careers in commerce.

Loved speed math and puzzles while I was growing up. While studying at NIT Nagpur, I discovered that my curiosity extended beyond engineering. I often skipped classes to trade the stock market, spending hours at the nearest Motilal Oswal franchise. Those experiences sparked a deep passion for finance. An MBA at IIFT Delhi provided the platform to refine my skills and ultimately opened the doors to a career in investment banking.

Virat Kohli – for his relentless discipline, focus, and ability to push himself beyond limits, even after achieving so much, is truly inspiring. Wayne Rooney – for his passion for the game and leadership on the field, without seeking fame or attention, reflects true commitment and authenticity. MS Dhoni – a true example of emotional intelligence, calmness, and balance.

Particularly excited by business models that solve real, tangible problems at scale and entrepreneurs who not only have the vision for the future but also the ability to execute it.

I enjoy watching F1, football, cricket, and chess — sports that offer a mix of strategy and excitement. Big foodie so I also love exploring new cuisines.
